TEAMS & CLUBS
Drill Team
The Air Cadets Drill Team is a disciplined and dedicated group of young individuals who showcase precision and teamwork through their drill performances. They participate in various events, demonstrating their skills in marching, formations, and ceremonial duties. The team fosters leadership, confidence, and camaraderie among its members, while also promoting the values of the Air Cadet program. Through rigorous training and practice, they strive for excellence and represent their squadron with pride.
Band
The Canadian Cadet Organizations offers a progressive music training program that is complementary to the core cadet training program. Cadet Corps and Squadrons that offer music training root it in the historical tradition of marching military or pipe and drum bands. Music training challenges cadets, and enhances their concept of community service, teamwork, leadership, and helps to provide a better understanding of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
Marksmanship
The Cadet Marksmanship Program is a challenging and competitive sports program accessible to all cadets. It develops skills through superior training and Olympic-style competition. This fun and rewarding program is enjoyed by thousands of cadets every year. Cadets have the opportunity to participate in a series of competitions at the local level that culminate in provincial/territorial competitions and an annual National Cadet Marksmanship Championship.
Biathlon
Biathlon combines running (summer biathlon) and precision marksmanship. The races are organized by laps of running separated by a round of shooting. Typically, each missed target during a participant’s shooting round results in a penalty loop of a specific number of meters. The resulting combination of high intensity aerobic activity with the discipline and concentration of Olympic-styled marksmanship challenges the participants to effectively balance athletics with focus.
In the Air Cadet program, we use words such as leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence, good citizenship. Cadets who participate in the effective speaking program will learn all of these things. The skills they learn here will help them immeasurably in other areas of their life as well, whether they are making class presentations in secondary school, or later, interviewing for admission to professional faculties at universities, making presentations to colleagues at work, leading volunteer organizations, or running for public office.
