The Cadet training year begins in September and ends in June. Applicants between the ages of 12-18 are eligible to join.

 

Mandatory Wednesday evening training runs from 6:15pm-9pm at the Lambeth Legion. Cadets are trained in aviation, leadership, citizenship, outdoor survival, drill, marksmanship, and sports.

Additional training is offered throughout the year: Teams & Clubs, field training exercises (FTX), gliding, and summer training opportunities for select Cadets.

There are no costs to become a cadet; however, cadets are required to participate in fundraising (such as tagging) to support the squadron and the air cadet glider program.

STEP 1:

Visit the online registration portal and under Unit Name, enter "862 Lambeth Lightning, Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron". Submit the required application for membership.

STEP 2:

​

Next, submit each of the following documents to the Administration Officer at 862air@cadets.gc.ca

​

1) a photocopy of the birth certificate, OR valid Canadian Passport, OR Canadian Permanent Resident/VISA Card; and

 

2) a photocopy of the provincial health insurance card (OHIP).
