Important Community Event - Walk of Gratitude
Mr. Tom Hennessy is a veteran of the second World War, joining the RAF age 18 years of age and flying 200 hours during the war as a Spitfire pilot. To celebrate his 100th birthday this year, Mr. Hennessy is endeavouring to walk 100km to raise funds for homeless veterans. He will be walking loops around Victoria Park and intends to commence on June 14, aiming to reach his goal on July 1.Mr. Hennessy has requested that cadets from 862 RCACS accompany him as he walks. We have been approved to participate in two of Mr. Hennessy's walks on Saturday June 18 and Saturday June 25 from 1130-1330hrs. We will be asking cadets to sign up for one hour shifts on either Saturday. Depending on cadet interest, we may shorten the shifts to accommodate all who wish to participate. If you are unable to sign up because spots are full and would like to, please send an email to co@862lambethlightning.ca with the following: SUBJECT: Walk of Gratitude. Include your: rank, first and last name and preferred date. The sign up deadline will be Tuesday June 14/22 and a final schedule will be published on Wednesday June 15/22.
